The top 5 benefits of having two photographers at your wedding <3
In a world full of amazingly talented photographers, it’s important for us to stand out. To offer something unique. One of the things that makes us, Ayelle, special is that we offer two photographers with every package. Why do we recommend a second wedding photographer? Here are 5 reasons why 2 photographers are better than 1:
TWO PHOTOGRAPHERS MEANS WE CAN BE IN MORE THAN ONE PLACE AT THE SAME TIME.
At every wonderful wedding, us photographers get pulled in many directions. One person may be getting ready in one room while the other gets ready in a separate room 15 minutes away. This way, we are able to guarantee capturing both sides of the story from start to finish. During the ceremony, it’s so lovely to have two different angles and perspectives of everything that goes on. Whilst one of us is taking group family photos, the other can go around and photograph all of those tiny and precious little details you spent so much time and effort organising. These are the little memories that deserve to be cherished and not forgotten. (We’re pretty sentimental like that) Whilst Adam may be capturing some special couple portraits, I often focus on the details, the hair, the collar, the dress. All of the things that need to be just perfect. Also, whilst one of us is capturing the bride launching her bouquet, the other can focus on all the suspecting ladies jumping to catch it. Who wouldn’t want both of these pictures?!
TWO PHOTOGRAPHERS, TWO BRAINS, TWO PERSONALITIES: PROVIDING A DIFFERENT STYLE, NEW OUTLOOKS AND A FRESH SET OF IDEAS THROUGHOUT THE DAY.
Although, as a couple we are extremely similar; no two photographers are created the same. With the benefit of a second photographer at your wedding, you are gaining twice the number of photos, twice the creativity, twice the experience. This also means we will be able to capture photos with different lenses, in a different style, allowing you more of a dynamic and beautiful variety within your wedding photos. It really is a wonderful bonus, with two photographers everything runs a lot smoother.
4 EYES, SECOND SHOOTERS CAN TAKE A MINUTE TO FOCUS ON THE LITTLE THINGS WHILST THE OTHER WORRIES ABOUT THE BIG PICTURE.
More often than not, we find ourselves whizzing through those group wedding photos, the photos with the siblings or the cousins or the aunties. With two sets of eyes, one of us is relied onto to concentrate on the things that shouldn’t be in a photo. Things like, an unbuttoned blazer, sunglasses, a phone poking through someones pocket etc etc. These things are not always easy or possible to correct during post process so it’s so important this is covered. We want your photos to be simply perfect.
BACK UP, JUST INCASE…
During one of our wedding ceremonies, our lovely Vicar strategically placed the two witnesses directly in front and behind of the bride and groom (unbeknown why) blocking my view completely, preventing me from being able to capture the kiss. Luckily, Adam had spotted the Vicars decision and was able to position himself correctly with just the right amount of time to capture that special moment perfectly. Throughout a wedding day there are magical moments constantly happening, little kids being cheeky, family members that haven’t seen each other in years, giggling, tears of happiness etc. They happen all day, all night and they can’t possibly all be photographed but with two photographers the odds are that the big (most important) ones won’t be missed.
DEALING WITH REALITY
Although as photographers we hate to think of this sort of thing, we have such a massive responsibility that these situations HAVE to be considered. We have to be realistic, unfortunately, no matter how much we may plan ahead.. Sometimes bad things can happen. Injuries, memory card failure, a glitch or broken piece of gear. Thinking about this, is enough to give us nightmares!! But, as responsible business owners and caring wedding suppliers, we have to be prepared for the unthinkable. With a second shooter, the risk is somewhat minimised. We trust each other to get our jobs done and to provide a high-end exceptional service. We trust each other to be able to shoot the entire wedding as if it were our own. This way, (god forbid) anything bad were to happen, you guys know you’ve still got a fully capable photographer who you can trust throughout the day.
