Tips for 2017/2018 Weddings

Adam and Liz at Ayelle Photography would like to bring you a little article to help you find your perfect wedding photographer. It is never too early to get things booked up, the time flies by and we cannot comprehend how quickly 2016 is going so far, 2017 is just around the corner!

Here are a few tips we would suggest for couples tying the knot.

Let your Wedding reflect who you are and your story.

It is easy to take ideas for your wedding using Facebook or Pinterest, it's great to take inspiration from these platforms but how much to they represent you and your personal love story. Try and think outside the box, and make things personal to the both of you, have fun whilst thinking of plans and ideas. Wedding planning is amazing and exciting (of course, sometimes stressful) but organisation and lots of planning will set you off in the right direction! Remember what you both love, from colour schemes to flowers to different photo styles, these finer, unique and personal details will make your day extra special.

Emails and phone calls are one thing, but meeting your photographers face to face is another. It is very important that your photographer listens to what style/theme your wedding will be. It's also imperative that they take on board any special requirements you may have. This also gives you a chance to get to know your photographers and have a laugh, allowing you all to have a relaxed and enjoyable experience ensuring your day will go super smoothly. We like to build friendships with our couples and of course we understand that the last thing you want is a stranger turning up to take your photos.

Pre wedding shoots.

These are a great idea if your not very comfortable in front of the camera, (don't worry, we completely understand! We are rubbish in front of the camera and we're much more comfortable being behind it.) Try to relax and always tell us how you feel. A pre wedding shoot can often be a sort of "trial run" for the day to get you more comfortable in front of the camera. This also gives us a chance to get to know you a little and see what brings a smile to your faces.

This can also be linked back to the pre wedding shoot, this gives you a chance to trust your photographer and to see if you like our style of working. We hope that you will even forget we are at your wedding so you can concentrate on what matters most, each other.

Shot List

We get to know what poses and types of photographs you like by asking you to send us some examples so that we can take inspiration from your selection. This can be anything from certain poses you may like, props you may want to incorporate and even down to the editing style. We can take all of this into consideration when editing in post production. This way you are certainly likely to get images you love. We also ask you to make up a shot list of groups which will help us get people together for your beautiful photos.

Enjoy your day

Trust your photographer to capture your day and do not worry about bad angles. All images will be narrowed down to the very best. Let your day flow naturally and try and forget your photographers are their but also let them know if you want any shot in particular. Let your hair down and more importantly, enjoy the best day of your life.

Lets get this one out there. Weddings are expensive, photography is something you certainly wont want to cut back on. These photographs will be your memories of your day to cherish for the rest of you and your families lives. Some think a family friend can take some decent photos, in turn, saving a bit of money, win win right? We have never heard one of these stories go well and each time it has been a regret. Uncle Bob can take a few nice photos but he should also be in the photos, not behind the camera. Or on the other end of the scale, you can hire someone who has been doing photography for a little bit "too" long, where they're overpriced and their photos all start to look the same. Even better, you can choose Ayelle. Why? Our pricing is in a sweet spot of the national average for wedding photographers but we offer originality and enthusiasm with a certain, timeless style. Our aim is to capture more natural photos and make your day run as smoothly and stress free as possible.

Thank you for taking the time to read our tips, of course if you have any more questions please do not hesitate to get in touch! We are always here, we can't wait to hear from you. Adam and Liz <3
